Mission
The mission of the Town of Prosper Police Department is to effectively and efficiently provide for the protection of lives and property, preserve the public peace, and provide needed community services with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards, through the use of Courtesy, Service, and Protection.
Office of the Chief
The Office of the Chief is comprised of a Chief of Police, Assistant Chief of Police, the Office of Professional Standards, and a host of professional admin staff. The department’s administration is to lead the agency and provide the support which enables the Department to function administratively. Areas of responsibility for this section are budget, purchasing, personnel, and training.
Patrol
Patrol is the most visible of the Department’s sections. Officers assigned to this section respond to calls for service and work 12-hour shifts with every other weekend off. This section is directly supervised by the Patrol Lieutenants. It also comprises of Crime Prevention and Community Services.

Criminal Investigations
The Criminal Investigations Division or CID is the investigative branch of the department. CID performs all criminal investigations as well as various types of internal/administrative investigations.
Records
The primary role of the Records Unit at the Prosper Police Department is to oversee the retention, storage, destruction, and retrieval of any item considered a record. Records is also responsible for administering alarm permits, solicitor permits, and fulfilling public information requests. Special Response Team (SRT)
The Prosper Police Department SRT is a unit comprised of officers that work high-risk incidents requiring special training, tactics, and weapons. The SRT is a group of dedicated, highly trained and motivated officers who are on call 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
K-9
The Prosper Police Department K-9 unit provides support for patrol officers and detectives by searching for suspects, drugs and other property and evidence.
Honor Guard
The Honor Guard functions as ambassadors of not only the Police Department but the Town of Prosper. Honor Guard members represent the police department at funeral services for officers killed in the line of duty and present Colors at Law Enforcement events.

911 Communications
Our 9-1-1 Communications team is staffed by a dedicated group of professionals who provide information gained by years of training and experience. 9-1-1 Communications receives all calls for service for the Police, Fire, 911 and other emergency services. Each telecommunicator is cross-trained to receive emergency and non-emergency requests for service and certified by the National Academy in Emergency Medical Dispatching. This section is directly supervised by the 9-1-1 Communications Manager.
