The Town of Prosper is proud to announce the appointment of several key members of its leadership to various influential boards within the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG). These appointments highlight Prosper’s growing influence in regional decision-making, showcasing the remarkable representation the Town has secured given its size compared to larger cities in the region.

David Bristol, Prosper Mayor, has been appointed to the Executive Board of the NCTCOG, a prestigious position that underscores his leadership and commitment to regional collaboration. Beginning his term on July 1, 2024, Mayor Bristol joins a 17-member board that serves as the policy-making body for all activities undertaken by NCTCOG. The Executive Board is responsible for making critical decisions on regional plans, fiscal policies, and program activities. Mayor Bristol’s role on this board places Prosper at the heart of regional governance, contributing to the shaping of policies that impact the entire North Central Texas area.

Marcus Ray, Prosper Mayor Pro Tem, has been appointed as the Alternate member on the Regional Transportation Council (RTC) representing Frisco, Prosper, Celina, Little Elm, The Colony and Providence Village. In this capacity, he will be instrumental in guiding the development of multimodal transportation plans, allocating transportation funds and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations regarding transportation and air quality. Additionally, Mayor Pro Tem Ray has been appointed to the Emergency Preparedness Planning Council (EPPC), where he will contribute to the oversight of regional emergency capabilities in planning, preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation. His dual roles on these boards reflect Prosper’s proactive approach to transportation and emergency preparedness.

Mary Ann Moon, CEcD, FM, HLM, Executive Director, Prosper Economic Development Corporation, has been reappointed to the North Texas Economic Development Council (NTEDC), representing cities with populations ranging from 30,000 to 100,000. As an ongoing member of the NTEDC, Mary Ann will continue to play a crucial role in advising the NCTCOG Executive Board on economic development strategies, ensuring the effective administration of programs and helping to shape the region’s economic future. Her reappointment reflects Prosper’s commitment to fostering economic growth and development, further solidifying the Town’s position as a key player in the region.

Jeff Hodges, Prosper Town Council Member, continues to serve as Board of Managers for the North Central Texas Emergency Communications District (NCT9-1-1), where he contributes to the oversight and management of the emergency 9-1-1 system serving over 40 Emergency Communication Centers across 14 counties in North Texas. His involvement ensures that Prosper has a direct hand in maintaining and enhancing critical emergency communication services for a population of approximately 2 million people over 9,800+ square miles.

These appointments highlight the caliber of leadership within the Town of Prosper and the significant role the Town plays within the NCTCOG and NCT9-1-1, despite its relatively smaller size compared to other cities in the region.
