Let Water Prosper
The Town of Prosper aspires to educate our residents about the importance of preserving water. With less than 1% of the Earth's freshwater available for use, it's essential to protect this valuable resource for the future. If you're interested in learning more, please contact us!

Watering Variances
Variances are granted when new sod is laid or new landscapes are installed to ensure plants have the necessary water to become well-established.
- Variances are good for up to 30 days from the date of installation.
- Typically, 2-3 weeks is sufficient for most plants to become established.
- Outdoor watering requirements below still apply.
- No watering from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- No excess water runoff or other obvious waste.
- No watering hard surfaces (streets, alleys, sidewalks).
- No watering during rain or freezing events.
- Don't forget to adjust your sprinkler system after 30 days!
To request a watering variance for newly laid sod or landscaping, please contact us at waterconservation@prospertx.gov.

Track Your Water Usage - with ACE Portal!
Tracking your water usage is essential for managing our most precious resources and saving money. Silent leaks, like worn toilet flappers, can go unnoticed for months, wasting significant amounts of water and driving your utility bills up.
With ACE Portal, you can set leak alerts to detect issues as they happen, helping you prevent costly water loss and stay in control of your consumption. Track your flow, save some dough—stop the leaks before they grow!
Want to learn more? Check out the Water Calculator below to see how your household compares to an efficient household.
The water calculator estimates household water use and compares your home to both a typical household and an efficient household in your zip/postal code. The calculator also estimates your carbon footprint from hot water consumption and helps identify specific strategies for improving overall household water efficiency.
