Police Volunteer Programs
Citizen's Police Academy
The Prosper Citizens Police Academy exists to educate citizens on operations, policy and procedures of the Prosper Police Department in order to build trust and volunteer within the community. Learn about our current or upcoming classes.
Coffee with a Cop
Prosper Police Department participates in regular Coffee with a Cop events at local establishments. These events bring our officers and our community members together – over coffee – to discuss issues and learn more about each other. Be sure to bring the family and join us for our next Coffee with a Cop event. If you are interested in hosting a Coffee with a Cop event, please email Officer Erin Hubbard.
Citizens on Patrol
The Prosper Police Department’s citizen volunteer program consists of Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) and Citizens on Patrol (COP). The COP unit assists officers by serving as extra eyes and ears, patrolling specific areas in town such as retail centers, parks, and neighborhoods to help identify suspicious activity. The VIPS unit supports the Police Department with administrative tasks and assists visitors in the lobby. All volunteers also help the Community Services section during Town special events. For more information, email Officer Erin Hubbard.
National Night Out
National Night Out is an annual event that takes place throughout the community. It is a community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, and more caring places to live and work. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. It provides a great opportunity for police and neighbors to be together under positive circumstances. Learn more about how we celebrate National Night Out in Prosper.
