Here in Prosper we celebrate National Night Out annually with our community. We strive to promote police-community relationships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. This is a fun opportunity for neighbors to get to know each other, exchange contact information, enjoy each other’s company, commit to looking out for one another and welcome public safety personnel to their vicinity. Neighborhoods host block parties where our officers stop by to meet and greet residents.
Prosper PD, Prosper ISD PD, Prosper Fire Rescue and First Responder Volunteers will be driving to neighborhoods and streets that want to participate and have “First Responder Parades” with lights and sirens. We encourage people to make signs or banners, wave to show support, or make sidewalk chalk signs.
The goal of National Night Out is to heighten awareness of crime prevention, to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. All residents are encouraged to host or participate in a neighborhood block party on National Night Out.
