2020 Bond Program
Town of Prosper voters overwhelmingly approved three bond propositions during the November 3, 2020 Bond Election. The election was the culmination of a multi-month-long process involving the Town Council and the Citizens Bond Advisory Committee (CBAC), comprised of 14 Prosper residents. The 2020 Bond Program is planned for a ten-year implementation and includes three propositions totaling $210,000,000 in bonding authority. These propositions were identified through a detailed analysis by the CBAC based on the Town's growth, future Prosper Independent School facilities, current and future road conditions, public safety needs and response time projections, and citizen needs for park and recreation land and facilities. Each proposition includes a maximum dollar amount that may be used for projects in that proposition. The proposed program includes projects located throughout the Town and represents the program the Town Council intends to undertake to accomplish the intent of the approved bond propositions. Residents can track the progress of each bond project by visiting the Bond Tracking Dashboard. Town of Prosper’s Accelerated Bond Program
As our Town continues to grow and thrive, it is crucial to keep our infrastructure and community services up to date. As part of the Town Council’s Strategic Visioning Priorities, the council works with the Capital Improvement Subcommittee to identify gaps in the Town's infrastructure and ensure that it meets the demands of a growing community.
During the fiscal years 2021-2025, the Town has accelerated many of the projects planned for fiscal years 2026-2030, ensuring that our Town's infrastructure meets the growing needs. This proactive approach means the Town can complete the 2020 Bond Program earlier than anticipated and can begin to prioritize projects and look ahead sooner than originally calculated.
The Town has issued 70% of the bond funds already, with 30% still available to support ongoing and future projects. This means significant improvements to our roads, facilities, and public spaces.
