Water & Wastewater

The Water Division is responsible for the operation, repair and maintenance of all water lines, valves and fire hydrants. This Division performs daily sampling required by the State of Texas to maintain a superior water quality rating for the citizens of Prosper. The Town of Prosper purchases treated water from the North Texas Municipal Water District. The water is stored in ground storage tanks until it is pumped to our elevated water tower. Water is then distributed through pipes to Prosper citizens and all non-residential customers. The Wastewater Division is responsible for the collection of all wastewater and its transmission to the North Texas Municipal Water District and Upper Trinity Regional Water District wastewater treatment plants. The Division includes the operation, maintenance, and repair of all sewer lines, manholes, and lift stations connected to the wastewater collection system. The Meter Division reads, repairs, replaces, and helps customers understand how water meters work. This Division has implemented a remote-read transmitter retrofit program and a meter change-out program. The Meter Division takes pride in the accurate reading of every meter.

Water & Wastewater Problems

If you experience a Water or Wastewater issue in your home, please contact the Public Works Department at 972-347-9969 during business hours (7 am to 3 pm). A Town employee will check to see if there is a leak or blockage in a Town's line. Otherwise, you will be notified if you should contact a plumber. Did you know? The Water and Wastewater Division has an employee on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. If you need assistance after regular business hours, please call the Non-Emergency Dispatch line at 972-347-2226. The on-call personnel will be dispatched to your home or place of business.

Streets Division

The Street Division rebuilds asphalt streets; makes minor concrete street and alley repairs; builds and repairs sections of sidewalk and curbs; cleans drainage ditches in the public right of way and culverts; sweeps streets; and sands driving surfaces during icy weather.
